How Taken

Brite Cream should be applied to the affected area and rubbed in twice daily or as directed by the physician.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone acts by inhibiting the enzymatic oxidation of tyrosine to 3,4-dihydoxyphenylalanine (DOPA) and subsequently to melanin thereby producing a reversible de-pigmentation of the skin.Exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light will cause re-pigmentation, which may be prevented by sun blocking agents.

Octyl Methoxy Cinnamate & Oxybenzone

Sun Screen agents are incorporated in Brite Cream keeping in line with the Hydroquinone therapy.Sunscreen agents are rated for their Sun Protective Factor (SPF). SPF can be defined as the rate of the time required to produce sunburn erythema with and without sunscreen application.
Sunscreen agents with SPF 8 -15 provide maximum protection. The SPF value of the sunscreen agents incorporated in Brite Cream also provides protection against the ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB) sunrays.
